Pack Families participate as they are able, please coordinate with our PAL to find out which families are participating to make this a group effort.

This year Pack 964 will participate at Quantico Cemetery at 9:30 am for orientation & begin wreath laying at 10 am. Quantico will have its WAA Opening Ceremony at 12 PM. For those interested to participate in the Arlington Cemetery Ceremony, events there begin at 8:30 am (for those families who prefer to go to Arlington).

This event is a very special way to show our gratitude to all our brave service members who have served our country. Please check your inbox for details or contact information of our PALs leading this event. Please don't miss out on this great service opportunity.
Summary/Tips:

This is a Rain or Shine event.
-
It is highly recommended to ride Metro if traveling to DC or Carpool if traveling to Quantico. Parking is very limited at both locations. Arrive early.
-
1-1 adult/scout ratio for safety among the crowds. Lots of patience will be needed as lines can sometimes move slow.

Wear Class A Uniform properly (shirt tucked in, neckerchief, hat, etc...) have a good breakfast and dress for the weather. Rain gear recommended.

Wreaths will be handed out following the oreintation/opening ceremony. Please verify the latest schedule of events online.

Arlington: The final ceremony will be at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at noon. Quantico: Ceremony at Noon.

Thank you for participating in this very special and moving event.
Parents: Please make sure to take time to explain to your child the significance of this tradition and remind them to be respectful of the graves of the soldiers. It is important to pause and read OUT LOUD the names of the tombs of those who served in an effort to continue to remember them and their sacrifices. This is a very emotional event to many and we want to represent our Pack in a positive manner.

Wreath Removal Volunteers Needed
Outdoor/Conservation Service Project
Many hands will be needed to assist in wreath clean up/removal. Quantico will announce dates, which normally vary from the end of January or first weekend in February to assist with removal. We look forward to assist in this effort.
