OUR PACK

Who We Are

Cub Scout Pack 964 has served the community of Dale City, Virginia since 1976. Our unit serves under the Virginia South Region, Occoquan District, which is part of the National Capital Area Council (NCAC) of the Boy Scouts of America.  We are Chartered to The VFW Post 1503 on Minniville Road. Most of our weekly/monthly meetings are held at Enterprise Elementary School Cafeteria, located at 13900 Lindendale Road, in Dale City, Virginia.

Our Pack Meetings are held monthly every fourth* Thursday of each month and Den Meetings meet on Thursdays at Enterprise E.S. at 7 pm. Scouts in our Pack are students from Enterprise ES and various surrounding schools in Eastern PWC.  We bridged 100% of our 2017 Webelos and 80% of our 2018 Webelos into Boy Scouts.  We  have successfully transitioned most of the remaining boys to their next Cub Scout rank; even those who moved away have transferred to new Packs. Our Pack size has been stable over the last few years with an average of 30 scouts.  This November 2018, our current recharter membership exceeded 40, however, our constant participating members are 34, and we go all out for this amazing group of scouts.  Have have various new prospects who have indicated interest in joining, and we're excited to welcome more new members this Spring.

We believe that every Cub Scout deserves a Trained Leader and we are proud of our amazing and enthusiastic leaders! Pack 964 is aware that parents are looking for activities that will help their scouts become well-rounded & productive citizens of their community and the world. Scouting can offer that and much more. We are proud to be able to give scouts a fun filled program all year long.  At least one parent joins with each scout, and becomes an active volunteer to help the Pack go. We're all in fun adventure this together, can't do scouting without parent leaders.

We have exciting opportunities planned for fun, adventure, service, learning, exploring and growth. This calls for more registered and trained leaders and we are currently welcoming/training newcomers for the Spring of 2019. We are looking forward to an exciting Scouting Year!

What We Offer

Pack 964 thrives on the Cub Scout Motto: DO YOUR BEST. We do our best to provide an excellent program of opportunity, growth, adventure and FUN AT EVERY TURN.  Whether it's a service project like a Stream Clean Up, or gleefully visiting local Nursing Homes to sing Christmas Carols and bring Christmas Cheer to the elderly, prepare meals for those less fortunate, prepare care packages for our Troops and serve in other ways, our Cub Scouts will have more than fun, they'll have wonderful experiences knowing they're making a difference in the lives of others and those within their communities.

If you are on the fence about joining Cub Scouts, we encourage you to come and Join Us on a Family Event such as a Pack Meeting and see  what all the fun is about. Bring a friend, odds are you'll both join the same night! If you require additional information, do not hesitate to contact our Cub Master or Den Leaders for more detailed information today. LEADING YOUTH TO LIFELONG VALUES

Everyday is a good day to learn something new. The Cub Scout Program offers a fun and wholesome program unlike any other where scouts can thrive in their own environment. Always on the move, always exploring, always learning how things work. We give the scouts opportunities to build on values that will go with them the rest of their lives. Cub Scouts offers opportunities to DO THEIR BEST as they build and reinforce the values learned at home such as: CITIZENSHIP, PERSONAL FITNESS, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES & LEADERSHIP. If you've never witnessed these values in action, we invite you to come and JOIN US at any event we have listed.

Adventures: Scouts learn new skills, build relationships, try new activities and experiments, play sports and games, perform skits, jokes and songs, participate in community and other service projects, meet interesting people, professionals or community leaders.  Scouting adventures include: Nature, wacky science, art, fun engineering, ecology, conservation, camping, hiking and much more.

How Much Does It Cost?  The million dollar question from parents of every interested boy!  How do we afford all that FUN?

It costs nothing to come and check it out!  Don't miss that opportunity!

Pack 964 annual membership dues depend on planned activities for that year and this is decided each May.  These costs can be mostly or completely covered through participation on our fundraising efforts. Our main effort is the annual Popcorn Sale which starts in August and ends by early November. Other fundraising efforts may take place to help families offset the costs of dues and other scouting expenses, in particular summer camp. Please come to our upcoming New Parent Meeting to learn more details regarding costs and what is covered through these fees. Pack 964 makes every effort possible to offer scouting to every interested & participating scout who actively participates. Costs should never be the reason why a scout can't participate in this great program. Join us today!  Send us an email today to learn more. Invite a friend to come with you.
